Our Story
We met in 2020, right in the middle of a pandemic, and we’ve barely been apart since. What started during an uncertain moment, when the world had slowed down, quickly became something steady and real.
It didn’t take long before we moved to Peckham, taking that bold step together and making it our home. From there, life unfolded in the best way, filled with laughter, shared routines, and the kind of adventures that make every day feel a little different.
Over the past five years, we’ve traveled across four continents together, discovering new places, cultures, and experiences that have shaped who we are as a couple. Through it all, we’ve found that the simple moments, cooking together, exploring a new place, or just being in each other’s company, are what we value most.
This is how our story has grown, and it’s why we’re so excited to start the next chapter together.
The Engagement
For our four-year anniversary, Jett booked a table at Akara, a new Borough Market restaurant. The night was full of laughter, good food, and a hint of mystery… though Ollie had “forgotten” a card, which didn’t go down well. The evening also marked the start of a surprise that would take us to Budapest for the New Year.
The next day, Jett was still slightly annoyed when Ollie suggested a cinema date and dinner. We walked across Waterloo Bridge to iKoyi, a two Michelin-star restaurant, whose location held a few hidden meanings for us, and were led to a private dining area.
Midway through dinner, Ollie disappeared and returned with a bright orange cookbook, a nod to our shared love of cooking. Inside was a poem ending with, “Will you say yes to our future?” And just like that, the surprise — and the missing card — finally made sense.
